Flux flow measurements in irreversible type II superconductors
2014 We report new measurements of the flux flow characteristics of irreversible type II superconducting foils in transverse magnetic fields. Using a phase sensitive detection technique to measure differential resistivity it is found that the current-voltage curves exhibit remarkable fine structure the main features of which are shown to scale with the critical current. LE JOURNAL DE PHYSIQUE L...
متن کاملFlux motion in anisotropic type-II superconductors near Hc2.
Flux motion in anisotropic type-II superconductors is studied in the framework of the timedependent Ginzburg-Landau theory. Expressions for the Hux-6ow resistivity tensor (including all the longitudinal and Hall elements) are obtained for the case that the applied magnetic field H is parallel to one of the principal axes of the sample and H is near the upper critical Beld H 2. A simple method i...
متن کاملVortex nucleation and flux front propagation in type II superconductors
We study flux penetration in a disordered type II superconductor by simulations of interacting vortices, using a Monte Carlo method for vortex nucleation. Our results show that a detailed description of the nucleation process yields a correction to the scaling laws usually associated with flux front invasion. We propose a simple model to account for these corrections.
متن کاملElectromagnetic radiation from vortex flow in Type-II superconductors.
We show that a moving vortex lattice, as it comes to a crystal edge, radiates into a free space the harmonics of the washboard frequency, omega(0)=2pi v/a, up to a superconducting gap, Delta/variant Planck's over 2pi. Here v is the velocity of the vortex lattice and a is the intervortex spacing. We compute radiation power and show that this effect can be used for the generation of terahertz rad...
متن کاملFlux creep in type-II superconductors: The self-organized criticality approach
In the presence of transport currents, the vortex structure in a type-II superconductor is subjected to the Lorentz force. This force per unit length of a vortex is fL= j3fW 0, where j is the transport current density, fW 0=f0B /B, B is the magnetic induction, and f0 is the flux quantum. The Lorentz force acting on a unit volume of a vortex matter is therefore given by FL=nfL= j3B, where nsrd=B...
